We are proud to announce that Miller Barondess partner Mira Hashmall was honored by the Los Angeles Business Journal on its exclusive list of Top Women Attorneys 2020. The honorees were selected for exceptional legal skill and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, for exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large.

Mira handles high-profile matters that have broad legal impact and heavy media attention in Southern California. She represents the City of Inglewood in litigation involving Madison Square Garden’s attempt to block the Los Angeles Clippers from building a new arena in Inglewood. She represents the County of Los Angeles in challenging Sheriff Villanueva’s controversial reinstatement of former Deputy Sheriff Carl Mandoyan after he was discharged from the Sheriff’s Department. She also represented the County of Los Angeles in connection with the Aliso Canyon natural gas leak, the largest in this nation’s history; the case settled for $120 million.

In addition to her work in the trial court, Mira is a Certified Appellate Specialist and heads the appellate department at Miller Barondess. She has represented clients in appellate proceedings before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Courts of Appeals for the Sixth, Ninth and Tenth Circuits, and the California Courts of Appeal. She has obtained appellate victories for clients in federal appeals involving First Amendment claims, insurance coverage issues, defamation and libel claims, and employment disputes.
