We are very proud of the law firm we created in 2006. Starting with three lawyers, we now number twenty lawyers. We are expanding our attorney ranks and client base, and just took more office space and extended our lease another ten years.
Our firm does litigation – trials, arbitrations, mediations and appeals. Our mission is simple: to solve the legal problems of our clients in an effective and efficient manner.
We started with just one partner and now have five, all stars in their own right. We have depth and strength in the ranks. Our partners and associates are well trained and extremely talented and hard working.
The team is energetic, aggressive and intensely focused on client service. The culture of our firm stresses cohesion. Here are some recent war stories:
- Won a $46 million verdict for an Asian manufacturing conglomerate in a two-month jury trial (Skip Miller/Sasha Frid).
- Serving as litigation counsel for twenty real estate projects in a multi-billion dollar dispute arising from the bankruptcy of Lehman Bros. (Skip Miller/Marty Pritikin/Veronica Gunderson).
- Won a defense verdict, and summary judgments, for banks; and an award of $2.5 million in legal fees against the plaintiffs (Skip Miller/Brian Procel/Amnon Siegel).
- Won $4.6 million in arbitration in a partnership dispute (Dan Miller/Jim Miller); $4.7 million in a real estate jury trial (Brian Procel); and $4 million in an employment arbitration (Dan Miller).
- Built a practice in the entertainment and sports industry, representing talent (entertainers and athletes), as well as film studios and producers (all attorneys).
- Established a practice specializing in all aspects of Internet law (Erik Syverson).
- Defended the County of Los Angeles and its Board of Supervisors in litigation involving its multi-billion dollar budget and constitutional issues including separation of powers (Skip Miller, Brian Procel and Amnon Siegel); and won summary judgment and an appeal in an employment case with institutional repercussions (Mira Hashmall).
- Obtained a multi-million dollar recovery for Director/Officer clients from the clients’ insurance carrier.
Balance drives our law practice. Our attorneys function as a unit fully invested in the client and the outcome. We are open to creative, non-traditional billing arrangements and have confidence in our ability to win.
We recruit from the top law schools and attract attorneys from large firms who want more responsibility and hands-on experience. We train our lawyers to be litigators and trial lawyers, as well as counselors and problem solvers.
We staff cases with fewer lawyers than other firms and are cost-effective in the delivery of legal services. We enjoy practicing law, are proud of what we have built and look forward to more successes.
